Mount Kenya October 2017
Join our team of trekkers this October and climb the spectacular Mount Kenya!
Climbing to 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is the second tallest mountain in Africa. The scenery surrounding this designated World Heritage Site is breath-taking. The trek takes you from the dusty lowlands though ancient forest and unique glacier-sculpted alpine heath, up to jagged volcanic peaks and glistening glaciers. In the 2800sq km National Park there are over 800 recorded plant species with 81 species being endemic to Mount Kenya. You can also see a wide variety of wildlife such as elephant, buffalo, bushbuck, waterbuck, zebra, hyena, colobus monkey and Monte Kenia rock hyrax.
Team Kenya’s Mount Kenya Trek follows the Sirimon route, which offers the most scenic ascent along the drier side of the mountain. The Sirimon Route is the most accessible of the routes on Mount Kenya and well within the capabilities of fit and enthusiastic hill walkers. Following the climb you will have the opportunity to see the impact that your fundraising has had first hand as we visit our projects in Ndhiwa and stay at Karibuni Eco Cottages. We will also take you to the nearby Ruma National Park with some of our beneficiaries.

Fundraising
We give all our climbers and volunteers an ambitious, but realistic, target of £1,000. 100% of this fundraising goes directly to our projects in Kenya.
If you are a real whizz at fundraising, you can fundraise money to contribute to your personal costs for the trip, as long as the charity gets the £1,000 donation.
We have over 20 years of fundraising experience, our team will be on hand to support you every step of the way and we are confident that you will be able to smash your target!
