#TeamKenya10 Guess what? It’s officially our 10th birthday this year. So, to celebrate, we’re going to shout about our top ten achievements since our lovely CEO, Valerie Wilson, founded us in 2008. 1. In the past decade, Team Kenya has impacted over 60,000 people with our programmes in Ndhiwa, including over 20,000 girls. 2. Our successful Raising Achievement programme – which works alongside schools to improve the quality of teaching and, you guessed it: raise achievement, is now being expanded to 28 schools. Alice is 55 years old and teaches at Ndhiwa Hospital Primary School, which has its name because it is next door to the hospital! She lives in teachers’ accommodation and as a result stays three kilometres from her family. Alice has a husband and eight children; four boys and four girls who range in age from 13 to 30 years old. Claire is player coach for Karibuni Girls’ Football Team. She has been playing and coaching the team since March 2018. Claire is 24 years old and was born in Godbondo, a village a couple of miles away from Ndhiwa. When she was three years old, Claire moved to Nairobi to stay with her older sister as her mother was too old to take care of her.
